            Senior Statutory Grants Manager

We’re looking for a creative and results-driven Senior Statutory Grants Manager to lead the development and management of our high-value and long-term statutory partners and other grant makers to fund our projects that are central to our overall strategic goals and aims.
At the Marine Conservation Society, people power our mission. Your role will be to develop high level opportunities to drive income growth and impact in future years and to help keep our statutory donors connected with our cause for the long term.
What you’ll be doing:
- Build and prioritise a high-value grants pipeline and partnerships, aligned to our priorities.
- Lead cross-organisational proposal planning and development, developing full-cost recovery budgets and preparing summaries to secure match-funding.
- Deliver best in-class grant stewardship, providing excellent donor care.
- Maintaining robust CRM and financial records, ensuring funder terms, audit requirements and compliance are met.
- Support and develop the Grants Officer, ensuring work is robust, credible and impactful.
- Contribute to team strategy, income tracking and forecasting; support organisation-wide fundraising initiatives and represent us externally.
This role sits at the heart of our Trust and Grants work and helps shape how we connect with our statutory partners and bring them closer to the ocean they care about.
What you'll bring:
- A proven track record in securing UK statutory grants (including devolved nations) at 6-7 figures
- Excellent bid writing and case building skills to produce well written and compelling proposals and reports shaped to grant interests and criteria.
- Strong and well-developed interpersonal and networking skills to build long-term relationships with our trusted partners.
- Confidence with complex budget developments, project reporting and claims for multi-annual grants.
- A wealth of knowledge regarding the trusts and grants sector in the UK (including devolved nations).
- An eye for detail and a head for the future – able to manage multiple complex bids and deadlines.
- A collaborative spirit and being able to work brilliantly with others to make things happen
- Passion for protecting the natural world and engaging people in positive change

Salary: £ - £ per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
