Are you a young person aged 18 to 25 who’s passionate about making a difference for people and the planet? Would you like to gain real experience working with young people, learn new skills, and be part of a team protecting our ocean?

We’re offering a 12-week internship for someone who’s curious, motivated, and ready to get stuck in. You don’t need formal marine conservation experience – just enthusiasm, reliability and a keenness to learn.

As our Youth Engagement Intern, you’ll work alongside our friendly Learning & Community Engagement team. Over the course of your placement, you’ll get involved in a variety of projects that help connect young people (aged 18–25) across the central belt of Scotland with the ocean. From supporting youth events and a residential, to helping design workshops and contributing to social media content, this is a chance to build your confidence and develop new skills in a supportive environment.

You’ll also take part in our monthly Youth Ocean Network calls and help us think about how more young people in Scotland can get involved in our work. As well as gaining experience in communications, facilitation and teamwork, you’ll learn how we track and evaluate the impact of our work – including its effect on wellbeing.

This internship is about learning by doing. You’ll be supported by experienced team members, have the chance to ask questions and reflect on what you’re learning, and contribute your own ideas along the way.

We’re especially keen to hear from applicants who might not usually see themselves represented in environmental roles, or who haven’t had access to opportunities like this before. What matters most is your potential.
